Project FeederWatch Training
Join Maymont for an introduction to Project FeederWatch, a community science program from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology that helps track winter bird populations across North America.
Learn how to identify common winter birds found in the Richmond area, discover which seeds and feeders attract different species, and explore the tools that make bird identification easier. Whether you maintain a backyard feeder or simply enjoy watching birds from your window or neighborhood park, you'll learn how to contribute meaningful observations to ongoing scientific research.
Project FeederWatch runs from November through April, and participation is flexible. You can count birds as often or as little as you'd like, with no prior birding experience required.
The Robins Nature Center is fully wheelchair accessible.
