Virginia Wildlife Trail Tours

Take a guided tour of the newly reopened Virginia Wildlife Trail to learn about more than a dozen native species that call Maymont home. Maymont’s animal ambassadors are either rescued or have been deemed non-releasable to the wild. This 1-hour outdoor walking tour is guided by Maymont staff and includes admission to The Robins Nature Center and use of binoculars.

Tours will meet in the lobby of The Robins Nature Center and end at the black bear habitat, which is about a half-mile from the entrance. Admission to The Robins Nature Center is included with TBEX credentials, so participants can come early to visit the gallery or return after the tour is complete. The doors to the Robins Nature Center open at 10am. Participants should check in at the front desk once the building opens.

Most of the mile-long trail is wheelchair-accessible, but the terrain at Maymont is very hilly and involves light hiking. The Robins Nature Center has an accessible entrance ramp and restrooms are accessible. Children are welcome but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. There is no food service at Maymont, but there are snack machines at the nature center.
