The Power of Place: The Italian Garden at Maymont

Thursday April 23

Other dates...

6:00 PM  –  7:30 PM

Maymont is celebrating its 100th anniversary as a public space. Part of what makes Maymont’s landscape so unique are the manicured gardens that were added during the Dooleys' era. Join Curator Kathy Garrett-Cox for a talk about the history of the Italian Garden, including its design influence and local architects. Then join Sean Proietti, Senior Manager of Horticulture, on a walk through the garden to learn more about the current plantings and methodology used for caring for this historic garden today.

A portion of this event takes place in the Italian Garden, which is not wheelchair accessible. Please be mindful that the paths to the Italian Garden are unpaved and there are several steep hills.
